Seven Baldwin County programs competed at the AHSAA Indoor Track and Field State Meet, highlighted by multiple state champions, school records and historic finishes across several classifications.

Bayside Academy's Avery Therrell captured the Class 4/5A girls 800-meter title, running 2:22.34 to lead the Admirals' efforts. Bayside's girls posted the county's highest team finish, placing ninth in the Class 4/5A standings.

Fairhope added a state champion in the field events, as Caroline Ledford won the Class 7A girls pole vault with a winning jump of 11 feet. The Pirates' girls finished 14th in Class 7A behind a pair of podium performances as Nylah Loukides earned a runner-up finish in the shot put after a tiebreaker decision with a throw of 36'11".

Foley's Zi'Morah Foster delivered one of the meet's top performances, winning the Class 7A girls long jump with a leap of 18'0.5" — a mark made her the No. 1 long jumper in the state. The Lions' girls placed 13th in 7A with the help of Foster and Jayda Kinsey, who added a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash at 7.65 seconds.

Gulf Shores delivered a historic showing, as the Dolphins' boys finished 11th in Class 6A — the highest indoor team finish in school history. Matthew Howe won the pole vault with a school-record clearance of 14 feet, the first state championship in program history.

Dolphins football star Carter Davis followed with a state title in the 60-meter dash, clocking a school-record and state-record time of 6.76 seconds. Davis now ranks as the seventh-fastest athlete in the nation in the event. Derreon Brady placed ninth in the 60 hurdles with an 8.93, the fastest time by a ninth grader in Class 6A, while Tevonna Campbell finished sixth in the 60-meter dash with 7.935.

St. Michael Catholic matched Gulf Shores for the second-highest county team finish, placing 11th in Class 4A. Addison Silvernail won the girls 4A/5A pole vault with an 11-foot clearance and is ranked fifth overall in the state. Eli Navarre placed third in the boys 4A/5A pole vault at 11 feet, 6 inches, and Emily Friedel finished fourth in the 3,200 meters in 11:58.

Fairhope boys, Gulf Shores girls, Elberta boys, Foley boys and Daphne also competed at the state meet, giving Baldwin County representation across multiple classes and events.
