Hundreds attended the first weekend of the Gulf Coast Renaissance Faire and Wild West Pirate Fest at 30569 Osprey Lane in Robertsdale. Just about all attendees were in costume, including pirates, cowboys, witches and wizards, fairies, plague doctors, medieval royalty and peasantry. In between acts — such as a jousting competition and musical performances — attendees could snack on a roasted turkey leg and drink sweet tea from a souvenir stein. Various whimsical items were available for purchase throughout the site. If you missed the first weekend, don't fret. The Faire and Fest will last another two weekends, on Nov. 22-23 and Nov. 29-30 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, including site maps, schedule of events and where to find tickets, visit www.gcrf.us.
