Supportive mom hopes child makes it in the biz

DAPHNE, Ala. — Jacqueline Citrin’s mother, Elizabeth, still remembers the first song her daughter ever sang.

It was about the wind while walking through Central Park in New York City — where Jackie was born — when she was 7 years old. There was no song title, nor was there structure, but it was the first song she composed.

Many kids think of things to sing about, but few record and produce an album.

Firsts — and inspirations

Jackie didn’t continue to write songs about wind.

Her first composition for her new album “Don’t You Know” was ‘So We Lie,” about a summer-camp romance Jackie didn’t want to leave behind, she said. (Editor’s Note: Watch a clip of Jackie singing “So We Lie,” and “Don’t You Know,” both from her CD.)

The first music video she recorded was for the song “Don’t Let Go,” also the title track on her first professionally recorded and produced album. Jubilee Music in Fairhope and the online store CD Baby.com sell the album.
