The rich sounds of a newly built Noack pipe organ will fill St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Foley during a special service of dedication Saturday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the traditional Anglican Evensong, which will feature organ music, congregational singing and a reception following the service.
The custom-built organ, crafted by the Noack Organ Company of Georgetown, Massachusetts, is the 170th instrument the company has completed since its founding in 1960. The instrument features 16 ranks and more than 900 individual pipes, designed to enhance the church’s acoustics and support its strong musical tradition.
Helen Rodgers, organist and director of music at St. Paul’s, will perform on the new instrument during the dedication service. Rodgers previously served as music director at St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope and is well known across Baldwin County for her skill and artistry in organ performance.
Founded in 1924, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 506 N. Pine St. and is part of the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. The church’s congregation is active in community outreach through programs such as Ecumenical Ministries of Baldwin County, the Boys and Girls Club, Emergency Safe Shelter and a Summer Feeding Program.
Worship at St. Paul’s centers on Holy Communion, with Sunday services at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. More information is available by calling the church office at (251) 943-2173.
