Mr. and Mrs. Michael E. Smith of Fulton announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Smith of Pensacola, Fla., to John Cleary Donovan III of Theodore, the son of Virginia Donovan Barnhill of Robertsdale and the late John Cleary Donovan Jr.
The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Catherine Academy and a 2006 graduate of the University of West Florida. She is a legal secretary with Deakle, Sholtis & Hamil in Mobile.
The prospective bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of Robertsdale High School, a 1999 graduate of Faulkner State Community College and a 2003 graduate of Auburn University. He is a computer programmer with CPSI in Mobile.
The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m. Dec. 15, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Fulton.
