Skill Toys from Around the World workshop kicks off Daphne Library Teen Tuesdays

Posted

On June 4 the Daphne Library will offer a special Skill Toys workshop for tweens and teens. Presenter Paul Miller will conduct the workshop. Miller has worked with the Hawaii Volcano Circus, Mobious, Boston’s Center for Experimental Works and Food Play, an Emmy Award winning show that teaches healthy nutrition to school children. In 1999, he founded Flow Circus with the mission to promote active learning and play through the art of juggling. The Skill Toys from Around the World workshop will introduce participants to kendama, flower sticks, diabolo and other skill toys that have histories dating back thousands of years. The workshop is fast paced as participants move through stations and try their hands with each skill toy. The workshop begins at 3:30 p.m. and will be held at the Daphne Recreation Department. Registration is required. Call or email at 621-2818, dplyoungadult@daphneal.com. The Daphne Public Library Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Friends of the Daphne Library.
