Roger Kennedy Gause

Roger Kennedy Gause, born Feb. 8, 1936, in Florence, South Carolina, passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 88. Raised in Georgetown, South Carolina, Roger lived most of her life in Mauldin, South Carolina, Saluda, North Carolina, and Robertsdale, Alabama. 

Roger's dedication to her faith was evident through her active participation as a member of the Altar Guild and a member of The Order of the Daughters of the King.

She was a former president of the Mauldin Garden Club, an avid bridge player and hostess extraordinaire.

Roger was preceded in death by her father, Delton Kennedy; her mother, Ila West Kennedy; her sister, Gertrude Hudson; and her brothers, John, and D.B. Kennedy.

She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Mullek (Tim) of Robertsdale, Alabama; her son, Ben Gause (Carolyn) of Columbia, South Carolina; and the loves of her life, her grandchildren: Benjamin Gause, III (Ann), William Powell Gause, Emily Shand Gause, Anna Patience Mullek, Margaret Louise Mullek, and Timothy John Mullek, Jr. Roger also leaves behind her sister and best friend, Aline Roshto of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and her former husband and father of her children, Ben Gause of Columbia, South Carolina.

Memorial services will take place at 11:00 AM on Sat., Jun. 8, 2024, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Robertsdale, Alabama, with a visitation one hour prior to the service, and at 11:00 AM on Fri., Jul. 5, 2024, at The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Saluda, North Carolina. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration or St. John’s Episcopal. Roger was loved by many and will be forever remembered as a force of nature who lived her life with style, Southern grace, and a lot of sass.
