William Joseph “Joey” McAleer

William Joseph “Joey” McAleer, Jr., 59, passed away on Aug. 27, 2024. Joey was a loving father, son, brother, and friend to many. A native of the Mobile area, Joey was an avid fisherman and conservationist who loved living on the water in Gulf Shores, Alabama. A graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal School, Joey attended the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. After graduation, he returned to Mobile and worked as a financial advisor for over thirty years, eventually owning his own company, McAleer Asset Management. He was actively involved with the Coastal Conservation Association of Alabama and supported the American Cancer Society through the Annual Mobile Chili Cookoff.

Joey is survived by his children: William “Billy” Joseph McAleer, III (Laura), Millie McAleer Hutton (Brooks), and Sara McAleer Radcliff (Webb); his grandchild, Webb McAleer “Mac” Radcliff; his parents, William “Bill” Joseph McAleer and Sara Lynn Camp McAleer; his sister, Jan McAleer Ladd (Allen), as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held in the Parish Hall at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Tues., Sept. 3, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., with the memorial service following in the Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 4051 Old Shell Rd, Mobile, AL 36608; Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 616 W Fort Morgan Road, Gulf Shores, AL 36542; or the Coastal Conservation Association of Alabama, 25595 Canal Road Suite I, Orange Beach, Alabama 36561.
