When a bomb threat shook the Baldwin County Courthouse earlier this year, Investigator David Tetreau’s quick thinking and technical expertise helped crack the case.
Tetreau and other local heroes were recognized at the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce’s Annual First Responder Appreciation Dinner held at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center on Sept. 18.
The event, held from 5-7 p.m., featured a meal catered by Mudbug Mafia and an awards ceremony celebrating the dedication and courage of the county’s emergency personnel according to a news release.
Tetreau received the North Baldwin First Responder of the Year award for his work in the Digital Forensics unit. While the courthouse case involved multiple divisions, Tetreau’s determination, creative tactics and ability to act under pressure were credited with helping solve it.
For the first time, the Chamber presented the Industry Standard in Healthcare Service Award to Lisa Bush. The new award honors a healthcare professional demonstrating exceptional skill and commitment to the community. Bush, who holds numerous nursing certifications and registrations, has served as a flight nurse with Medstar Air Care and now is Director of Emergency and Surgical Services and Community Outreach and Education at North Baldwin Infirmary.
The Good Samaritan Responder Award went to Devon Pfeffer and Hunter Robinson, members of the Baldwin County High School Fishing Team, for their calm and quick response during a boating accident on Aug. 16.
"On behalf of the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, it is an honor to host this great event that helps give back to those who sacrifice so much," said Executive Director Kristina Pittman in the release.
Event sponsors included North Baldwin Infirmary, Matthews Landing, Pepsi Atmore, Quincy Compressor, Baldwin EMC, RKMC, Baldwin Gulf Coast Pest Control, Delta Flooring, United Bank, International Paper, 1010 Divine, Farmers Furniture, Renasant Bank, Gulf Packaging, A Supply One Company, Columbia Southern University, Crowne Health, Mudbug Mafia and Coastal Events & Design.
"To our North Baldwin First Responders, the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the tireless and selfless work on behalf of our North Baldwin Community," the news release said. "Your commitment and dedication to keeping North Baldwin safe and a great place to Live, Shop, Eat and Play is truly valued and does not go unnoticed. It is our privilege to host this special event as a token of our gratitude. "
