Spanish Fort High School has achieved national recognition as the overall winner of the 2024 Acts of Service Contest, hosted by ThriveWay. The award highlights their exceptional "Reach Out Campaign," a seven-week initiative aimed at promoting mental health awareness and fostering a supportive community environment.

ThriveWay, a prominent peer-to-peer prevention and support company, received nominations from over 1,000 schools across the United States for its annual contest, which celebrates impactful student-led projects within the Peer Helpers PLUS program. Spanish Fort High School stood out for their comprehensive approach to mental health, which included providing resources, encouraging self-love and promoting unity among students.

The "Reach Out Campaign" at Spanish Fort High focused on suicide prevention by breaking the stigma around mental health, encouraging students to seek help, and supporting one another. This initiative has earned them a $1,000 prize, recognizing their outstanding efforts in positively transforming their school community through the Peer Helpers PLUS program.

In addition to the overall winner, the contest also celebrated individual category achievements. Robertsdale High School was among the notable winners, receiving $500 for their innovative project aimed at fostering peer support and enhancing student well-being.

ThriveWay's Acts of Service Contest continues to spotlight the significant impact of peer support programs nationwide, with Spanish Fort and Robertsdale High Schools exemplifying the powerful influence of student-led initiatives in fostering healthier and more connected communities.
