Author Carl T. Smith will sign Louisiana Burn, his long-awaited sequel to Lowcountry Boil, on Friday, June 22, 3-5 p.m. at Page and Palette in Fairhope.
In Louisiana Burn, Sam Larkin, former environmental law officer and ex-con, is lured from the serenity of his lowcountry home in South Carolina by Karen Chaney, a federal officer and Sam’s erstwhile lover. Sam soon finds himself drawn into an investigation of a Louisiana senator about to be tapped for a vice presidential candidacy — a man who also unjustly sent Sam to prison 12 years earlier.
Fairhope author Joe Formichella says, “Louisiana Burn serves as a preservation piece for the Katrina-devastated Gulf Coast’s scenery, smells, food and people — From the opening pages, this book quite literally grabs you by the throat and never relinquishes that grip.”
