The holiday season is arriving and local communities are gearing up with a variety of family-friendly and teen-focused activities.

From festive photos with Santa to creative crafting sessions and outdoor movie nights, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Children and teens can join story times, open play sessions and hands-on art projects, while families can gather for classic holiday films under the stars.

KIDS OPEN PLAY

What: Bay City Gymnastics Academy hosts an open play session for children ages 6-15. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and guardians can enjoy watching their kids participate in gymnastics-themed activities. For more information, call (251) 621-2112.

When: Thursday, Nov. 20, 2:30-3:25 p.m.

Where: Bay City Gymnastics Academy, 8534 Well Road, Daphne

Price: $10 for one child, $5 for each additional sibling; cash only

MOVIE IN THE STREET – THE GRINCH

What: Celebrate the holiday season with the 15th Annual Movie in the Street featuring the classic film The Grinch. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a festive outdoor movie experience with family and friends. Kids are welcome to wear holiday pajamas to enhance the fun. Come early to grab a good spot and make merry memories in downtown Fairhope.

When: Saturday, Nov. 22, 6:30 p.m.

Where: Intersection of Section Street and Fairhope Avenue, downtown Fairhope

Price: Free admission

TEEN CRAFTERNOON – PERLER BEADS

What: Fairhope Public Library hosts a teen crafting session focused on Perler Beads. Participants will create colorful art pieces by arranging beads on pegboards and fusing them into designs. The event encourages creativity, social interaction, and hands-on fun for teens.

When: Monday, Nov. 24, 5-6 p.m.

Where: Fairhope Public Library, 501 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope

Price: Free admission

STORY TIME WITH WORD BIRD

What: Bay Minette Public Library will host Story Time with Word Bird, a kid-friendly reading session full of fun and interactive storytelling. The event is open to all children and may be held at either the library or the Kid's Park. Follow the library's Facebook page for location updates.

When: Tuesday, Nov. 25, 10 a.m.

Where: Bay Minette Public Library, Bay Minette

Price: Free admission

PHOTOS WITH SANTA AT THE WHARF

What: Santa Claus will visit The Wharf every weekend from now through Christmas Eve, offering families the chance to take festive photos and hand-deliver wish list letters. Children can enjoy meeting Santa in his cozy village while the reindeer rest nearby. A variety of photo packages are available for purchase.

When: Now through Dec. 24; Friday 3-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday noon-6 p.m.; special hours Dec. 22-23 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Dec. 24 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Where: The Wharf Store, Suite D118

Price: Various photo packages available
