Around 200 cars are anticipated to be exhibited April 14 only, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., during the 20th Annual Baldwin County Strawberry Festival in the Loxley Municipal Park on Highway 59, Exit 44 off of Interstate 10.

Title sponsored by Wachovia Bank and the town of Loxley celebrating its 50th anniversary, the weekend event scheduled April 14-15 hosts a variety of more than 170 arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment, a carnival and great strawberry shortcake.

The car show is presented by the Panhandle Cruisers, and cars in 21 classes will be judged for first-, second- and third-place trophies. These include classic cars, street rods, sports cars, customs, muscle cars, pro street and pickups, vintage and antique autos —all part of the premier automotive enthusiasts event in south Alabama.

Additional awards for Best of Show, Best Interior, Best Engine, Best Paint, Festival’s Choice, and Show Director’s Choice are also awarded.

Registration fees go to the Strawberry Festival, and proceeds from the day’s 50/50 drawing funds the club’s charitable donations throughout the year.

“We have received such positive feedback over the last few years from car show participants and attendees that come to our event specifically for the car show,” said Festival Chairman Laurie Gruenloh. “The Panhandle Cruisers are great to work with from a festival aspect and seem to host a top-rated car show.”

Festival Hours this year are April 14, from 9 a.m.– 7:30 p.m. (fireworks presentation) and April 15, from 9 a.m.– 5 p.m.
