The City of Foley honored bestselling Christian author Colleen Coble during a series of events hosted by the Foley Public Library, including a book launch for her latest novel, "Ambush."

Coble, known for her gripping romantic suspense novels, was presented with the key to the city by Mayor Ralph Hellmich during the book launch held Saturday, March 22, at the Foley Civic Center. The event featured a talk, book signing and interactive discussion with Coble and her co-author, Rick Acker.

Released March 4, "Ambush" is the first installment in Coble’s new Sanctuary series. The novel prominently references local landmarks, including Foley, U.S. 98, Barnwell and Baldwin County, giving it a familiar backdrop for area readers. Coble’s other series, including Pelican Harbor and Tupelo Grove, are also set in the region.

In addition to the book launch, Coble and Acker participated in several library events. They led a discussion with the library’s Book Club on "I Think I Was Murdered," hosted a writing workshop for the Teen/Tween group and held a special storytime featuring Coble’s children’s book, "The Blessings Jar."

The library also organized an exclusive "Behind the Scenes" event for adults and families, where attendees asked Coble about her books, writing process and personal journey.

During the book launch, Coble shared insights into "Ambush" and her creative strategies, engaged with the audience and answered questions.

Coble is widely recognized for her Christian fiction, with popular series such as Rock Harbor and Hope Beach earning her a devoted readership. With millions of books in print and multiple awards to her name, her storytelling continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
