Orange Beach will be searching for its third straight state title after two consecutive on the Class 2A circuit before joining the Class 4A stage this alignment. Spanish Fort will be searching for its first trip to the state finals in program history, Daphne has been to the finals twice (2008 and 2017) and Fairhope won the 2018 crown before finishing as runners-up in 2021.
In the regional rounds, Fairhope beat MGM (7-1) and Daphne (10-1) in the finals where the Trojans took down Baker 4-0 in the first round and 11-0 in the consolation round. Spanish Fort earned wins over Benjamin Russell (7-1), Saraland (5-2) and Baldwin County (5-3) to take the top seed from the south in Class 6A.
