Fairhope Mayor Sherry Sullivan is congratulating Bayside Academy senior Amelia Wells for being named a recipient of a 2025 Energy Southeast Scholarship, a $2,500 award that will help support her college education in Alabama.

Wells is one of 32 students across the state selected this year for the scholarship, which is funded by Energy Southeast, the energy provider for Fairhope Public Utilities. In total, the company is distributing $80,000 in scholarship funds to high school seniors in Alabama.

“We are thrilled for Amelia and her achievements,” Sullivan said in a news release. “This scholarship will help her continue her education and contribute to her bright future. We are grateful to Energy Southeast for their continued support of our students and their commitment to fostering educational opportunities in our community.”

The Energy Southeast Scholarship Program, launched in 1992, has awarded more than $3.5 million to Alabama students pursuing college or vocational training. The program is open to graduating seniors in communities served by the company and its member cities.
