• Whiting Gallery: Latino American Artists and Friends — The Latino American artists gathered together to bring to the show a rainbow of ideas and talents.
From Argentina to the United States, all of them have the same goal, to transport with brush or the camera into canvas, paper or clay the passion of their medium.
From landscapes to figural art, each of them has an unique way to represent the subject matter.
Participating artists include Alan Arguello, Gonzalo Lopez Davila, Angie Gonzalez, Ana Maria Stack Harrison, Maria Papp, Lucia Ray, Silvia Lessa Skultety, Julio Turrens and their friends Casey Downing, Fred Marchman and Maria Payne.
Our friends are well-known artists that are of Spanish descent or have received the spirit of Latino America while living in our mother countries.
• Woolley Gallery: Mis Dos Mundos/My Two Worlds — This exhibit expresses the dreams and journeys of our newest neighbors. Some of the students were visited in their ESL classrooms of Daphne Elementary East. Other Spanish-speaking children spent time with new English-speaking friends recently here at ESAC in a three-day intensive Spanish Immersion Project.
Monday, at noon, Nancy Raia will give a Gallery Talk about the student project.
Guest dancers Joann Ratcliff, a folklore dancer from Costa Rica, and partner John Norris will give a dance demonstration.
• Wilson Gallery: Weeks Bay Photography Contest — On exhibit will be the winning entries in the 8th Annual Photography Competition hosted by the Weeks Bay Foundation.
With local waterways as their subject, amateur photographers will receive prizes in Flora, Fauna and Open Habitat categories in the Adult and Junior (under 18) division.
All exhibits will hang through the end of July.
Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 10-4, and Saturday, 10-2.
