For the first time, bowling coaches from member schools in the Alabama High School Athletic Association assembled an all-state bowling squad and recognized eight Baldwin County athletes, four each from the girls’ and boys’ circuits.

Elberta’s Jon Devery Thomas, an individual medal winner at state, was named to the first-team all-state for Class 1A/5A. The Warriors were also represented by Jerhyn York, Brody Cain and Alyssa Deisner, all of whom were all-state honorable mentions.

Marshall Egbert from Gulf Shores also earned all-state honorable mentions and he was joined by Morgyn Jones and Adriana Venus from the girls’ circuit in earning recognition for the Dolphins.

Orange Beach’s Molly Reese rounded out Baldwin County’s all-state honorable mentions after she registered the ninth-best individual score in the qualifying round of the regional tournament in Spanish Fort.
