Construction advances at Mobile International Airport as parking rates change at MOB

Posted

Construction at Mobile International Airport is picking up pace, with major progress visible as the new terminal's roof is complete and glass installation is underway.

The terminal, scheduled to open in 2026, will debut with five gates and a parking garage, aiming to bring a modern, efficient travel experience closer to residents of Mobile and Baldwin counties.

A key milestone in the project was reached recently with the opening of a new access road off Perimeter Road. The addition improves connectivity to the construction site and supports continued development as work on the facility moves forward.

The new airport is expected to significantly enhance air travel accessibility in the region. The modern terminal design and convenient location are part of a broader effort to bring more passenger options and economic growth to the area.

In a related update, Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) implemented new parking, which began on Monday, June 2. Long-term parking will be $10 per day while short-term parking will be $12 per day. The rate adjustments are part of an effort to maintain a competitive and efficient airport experience.
