Bay Rivers Art Guild in Daphne will present “Blue and Yellow Don’t Make Green,” a color-mixing workshop taught by Stacy Howell, May 23 and 24, from 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Howell studied under Michael Wilcox, and is certified through his School of Color. Wilcox is the author of the best-seller, Blue and Yellow Don’t Make Green.
Howell has taught this method of color mixing to art teachers in the Alabama public school system.
Never struggle again to create that wonderful color you used in a previous painting. This is a hands-on program designed for artists of all media and all levels of expertise, from beginners to professionals.
“Pigments are the same in all media,” says Howell. “I teach in acrylics due to the time factor, but the system can be translated into oils, watercolor, pastels and colored pencil. This is an excellent foundation for beginning artists.”
Award-winning artist Colette Waite said, “I keep the color-mixing book next to my easel. It has allowed me to paint with a more limited palette and has made my paintings more harmonious.”
The class fee is $175 for members and $200 for non-members. All supplies and lunch will be provided. Credit cards are accepted for payment.
Bay Rivers Art Guild is located at 1704 Sixth St. in Daphne. For more information, call 621-0659.
