Bay Minette is gearing up for a fun-filled October with a series of community events that promise something for everyone.

Who's hungry? On Thursday, Oct. 24, Burgers & Bingo on the Square will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Courthouse Square Gazebo. Families can enjoy free bingo games with plenty of prizes up for grabs. Baldwin County High School Baseball will be on hand grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, while the Kiwanis Club will sell drinks and snacks. Adding to the fun, the Cups for a Cure Lemonade Truck will serve its signature drink, and the Rec Soccer Program will host a bake sale.

On Friday, Oct. 25, the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will host an Outdoor Movie Night, featuring a screening of Tim Burton's beloved "The Nightmare Before Christmas." The evening starts at 6 p.m., with the movie beginning at dusk. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the film. Free popcorn will be provided, and the event is sponsored by RKMC and Sarah Beth Knizley with Delta Realty.

For book lovers, the Fall Into a Good Book Sale will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Bay Minette Public Library. The sale will be set up on the library's front lawn, with additional titles available in the upstairs book sale room. Shoppers can purchase exclusive Bay Minette Public Library totes and fill them with books for free. Totes range from $10 to $20, and there are limited quantities. Coffee cups will also be available for $5, and all proceeds will benefit library projects. The library is located at 205 W. Second Street.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the Baldwin County High School Baseball team will host a special Halloween Game at Halliday Park. The event will kick off with a Hit-a-Thon at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Trunk or Treat at 6 p.m. During the game, players will compete in Halloween costumes, and young fans will have the chance to join them on the field for a quick round of batting. There will also be a prize awarded for the best costume.

Also on Oct. 29, Coastal Alabama Community College will hold a Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7 p.m. on its Bay Minette campus. The family-friendly event invites the community to join the Coyotes for an evening of Halloween fun. Coastal Alabama Community College is located on US 31 South.

Rounding out the month, the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will hold its fourth annual Trick or Treat Drive-Thru on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Starting at 6:30 p.m., Chamber volunteers will distribute 100 swag bags filled with items donated by Chamber members. Vehicles should enter from Dobson Avenue, behind the Chamber of Commerce, and exit onto McMeans Avenue (Alabama 59). The event will continue until all the bags are given out.

Looking ahead to November, Pine Grove Elementary will host its Fall Festival on Friday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. The festival will include games, food, vendors and a bounce house. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, magic lovers can look forward to a Showcase of Magic at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Bay Minette Public Library and local magician organizations, will feature 10 performers from the Gulf Coast Magicians Guild. Expect sleight-of-hand tricks, stage illusions and plenty of laughs. The event is free and open to all. The Civic Center is located at 301 D'Olive Street.
