Baptist Hospital has been verified as a Level I Maternal Levels of Care facility, a designation awarded after a detailed review by The Joint Commission.
According to a news release, the evaluation examined patient care, clinical expertise, equipment and other resources that support safe births and improved maternal outcomes.
“We are proud of this designation that recognizes our team for providing the highest level of patient care quality and safety,” said Joyce Nichols, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, CWOCN, vice president and chief nursing officer for Baptist Health Care. “We provide a tailored birthing experience that aligns with each expectant mom’s needs and preferences.”
The verification program is based on clinical guidance from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' Levels of Maternal Care Obstetric Care Consensus, according to the release.
Baptist Hospital’s Mother-Baby Center offers physicians, midwives and nurses who guide expectant parents through the full maternity journey. The hospital provides a range of classes and education before and after delivery. An entire floor is dedicated to mothers and newborns, and each room is designed to support comfort and safety.
