A teenager was shot in the arm following what police say was a gang-related shooting in Silverhill.

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Silverhill Police Department in the early morning hours of Sept. 21 to assist their agency regarding a shooting that had occurred in their jurisdiction. According to a news release from BCSO, the incident took place on Hwy. 104 and West Boulevard. BCSO Investigations Command Lt. Andrew Ashton said current information suggests a physical altercation occurred earlier in the evening and spilled over into a shooting.

Police reports say a 16-year-old boy was driving west on Hwy. 104 with three passengers when a second approached "at a high rate of speed." The teen turned north on West Boulevard, followed by the second vehicle, when approximately 19 shots were fired from the second vehicle into and in the direction of the filled car.

The victim driver was struck one time in the arm. Ashton said the other occupants were not injured.

Investigators identified 18-year-old Cameron Lucas, of Robertsdale, as the suspected driver of the second vehicle and that he was accompanied by three other male juveniles. All four have been charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied building or vehicle and attempted murder. All suspected who were arrested will be charged as adults, Ashton said.
