James Warren May, a resident of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, passed away peacefully Thurs., Sept. 5, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was 83.

He received his undergraduate from Auburn University and his law degree from The University of Alabama. He practiced law for 58 years, and was still practicing law, at the time of his death.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Chapel; he was known as the “head biscuit chef”. He was a mentor to many young lawyers in Baldwin County.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lisa May of Magnolia Springs; daughters, Mary Beth May of Mobile and Jami Vokjovich of Mesa Verde, Arizona; son, Coleman May of Magnolia Springs; sisters, Peggy Jordan and Martha May, both of Fairhope; grandson, Adrian James Vojkovich; other loving relatives and many dear friends.

A celebration of James’ life was held Thur., Sept. 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Chapel in Magnolia Springs, Alabama, to include an inurnment in St. Paul’s Garden. Reception followed.
