Free sand is available for residents in preparation for Tropical Storm Isaias, which is expected to make landfall as a Category 2 hurricane along the north Gulf Coast Friday night or Saturday morning, at the following locations in Baldwin County:
- Bay Minette — Public Works Shop – 801 E. 1st St.
Sandbags are limited to City of Bay Minette residents.
A maximum of seven self-filled bags are allocated per household.
Bags, shovels and sand will be provided on site.
Accommodations will be available for elderly and disabled residents.
- Gulf Shores — 19025 Oak Road West
Bring your own bags and shovels.
- Foley — Old Public Works facility, 120 E. Orchid Ave.
Sandbags, sand and shovels will be provided. Residents will fill their own sandbags on site.
Access: Use the north gate at the east end of E. Marigold Ave., behind South Baldwin County United Way.
- Orange Beach — City Hall, 4099 Orange Beach Blvd.
Shovels are provided if individuals do not have one. Please use no more than 5 bags.
- Robertsdale — Baldwin County Central Annex, 22251 Palmer St.
Residents must bring their own bags and tools.
