Third-grade ARMT and SAT testing begins this week and will continue through next Thursday, April 10th. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast. A good rest and breakfast help the brain function more efficiently.
Kindergartners in Mrs. Hawes’ class are learning about plants this week. They are learning a poem about a seed sprouting and the students pretend they are seeds popping up through the group. The students also planted bean seeds and cannot wait for their plants to grow!
Ms. Jackson’s kindergartners are about to begin a unit on “The Pond.” They will discuss spring, plants and flowers, insects, and the critters that live in and around the pond. On April 11 the class is going to the Gulf Coast Zoo.
Mr. Ayers’ first-grade class is busy working with money. They are learning to identify and count all the different coins. They are also talking about spending and saving in social studies.
In Mrs. Clayton’s first-grade class the students are beginning a study on the environment. They will learn about the effects of pollution and litter on their environment and ways that they can help. Students will learn about landfills and good habits that they can develop to lessen the amounts of waste that end up in the landfills.
