USABC continues First Weekend Concert Series

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The University of South Alabama Baldwin County is helping to create a weekend of fun in downtown Fairhope. In conjunction with Fairhope’s First Friday Art Walk, USABC wants to continue the excitement with the First Weekend Concert Series held the Saturday after Art Walk.

The third concert in the series will feature blues-rock band, Catfish Flats. It will be held March 8 in the USA Baldwin County Performance Center on the corner of St. James Avenue and Summit Street in Fairhope.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30. Tickets are $10, and can be purchased in advance at the Administration Building, 10 N. Summit St., Fairhope.

USA students are admitted free with their student ID. Space is limited so get your tickets today.

Catfish Flats is a three-piece blues/rock band based in Mobile. Since its inception in November 2004, Catfish Flats has earned a reputation for powerful and consistent live shows featuring the dynamic improvisational skills of all three members.

A power trio of the highest proportions, Catfish Flats delivers it all from boogie/blues to power ballads. These songs tell the stories of people we know all too well, the down-and-out and the hopeless.

The real treat is that there is a certain amount of acceptance and forgiveness in this music.

Listen to their music at www.catfishflats.com.

Mark your calendar for our last concert of the series, Jimmy Roebuck Jazz Quartet, April 5.

The concert series is sponsored by the University of South Alabama Baldwin County and Jaguar Productions.
