Foley police are asking for the public's help in finding the person or persons responsible for shooting into two moving vehicles on North Cedar Street on July 1 shortly after midnight. The two vehicles were fired upon about 20 minutes apart, according to Sgt. Tony Fuqua, an investigator at Foley Police Department.

A female was injured by flying glass in one of the vehicles when the driver's side window was shattered. One of the victims' husband is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people involved, Fuqua said.

Police are uncertain what the perpetrators used to fire into the vehicles. It could have been a "Wrist Rocket," a high velocity slingshot, said Fuqua, who noted marbles were found at the scene. A pellet or BB gun or even small caliber handgun could have been used, he said.

The second vehicle, a van, was shot through a side window as well.

Anyone with information concerning the incident, or who saw anybody suspicious along North Cedar between U.S. Highway 98 and Section Avenue at the time in question, should call Foley police at 943-4431.
