The Gulf in Orange Beach to host Mardi Gras dog parade

Looking to include your furry friends in the Mardi Gras festivities? The Gulf in Orange Beach will be hosting a Mardi Gras themed dog parade on Saturday, Feb. 10, followed by a costume contest.

"(The) dog parade on the runway will be followed by the judging of the costume contest for best dressed dog and person" the restaurant announced in a social media post from Jan 31. "Winners will receive a gift card to the restaurant, (and) we will be tossing beads and other Gulf goodies off our balcony at 3 p.m."

The event will also feature a feast of king cake beignets, chicken and sausage jambalaya and po'boys, and "pawdi pup cups" for visiting pets.

The dog parade is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. followed by the bead toss at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10.
