St. Francis at the Point will kick off the 2023-2024 concert series Oct. 22, with a special dedication.

Steinway Piano Dedication Recital
Sunday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m.

The first concert of the series is a Steinway piano dedication recital by pianist and composer Kadisha Onalbayeva. Thanks to generous supporters, a brand new Steinway Model B piano has arrived at the church. Onalbayeva is the first pianist from Kazakhstan to be named a Steinway artist and is the winner of numerous international awards. In 2022, she was inducted into the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame at the Steinway Factory in New York City. She is currently the director of piano studies and professor of music at the University of Mobile.

Christmas with the Perdido Brass

Sunday, Dec. 17, 3 p.m.

Get into the Christmas spirit with a concert presented by the Perdido Brass Comprised of members of the Pensacola Symphony, the Perdido Brass was formed in the summer of 1988. Members Dale Riegle, Jonathan Martin, Stuart Kinney, Bret Barrow and Wess Hilland have experience playing in a variety of professional organizations including the Mississippi Orchestra, Mobile Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cincinnati Pops.

Eastern Shore Chamber Music
Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024, 3 p.m.

The Eastern Shore Chamber Music Festival was a new event during the summer of 2023. Founders Sahada Buckley and Trace Johnson bring professional knowledge and experience to Fairhope by programming, performing and teaching chamber music that inspires further involvement in classical music performance. For this concert, they will be collaborating with violinist Kayla Patrick and pianist Benjamin Rollings.

Valentine's Day Concert
Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, 3 p.m.

Bring your love to a special Valentine's Day-themed concert featuring romantic music by Gabriel Pierne, Gustav Mahler, Gabriel Faure, Marcel Tournier, Claude Debussy and the "waltz king" Johann Strauss II. Performers will include Stephanie Riegle, Rebekah Atkinson, Matthew Atkinson, Gosia Leska, Jim Lichtenberger and Andrea Beltran Landers. All are members of various professional ensembles including the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and Meridian Symphony Orchestra.

Eastern European Virtuosos
Sunday, April 14, 2024, 3 p.m.

Back by popular demand, Marta Szlubowska, a Polish-American violinist will be joining forces with Ukrainian-American pianist Svetlana Belsky. Both artists collaborated on an award-winning CD "Myth and Romance." Szlubowska has won numerous prizes in international competitions and has performed as a soloist with 20 different orchestras around the nation. Belsky is a highly regarded performer, noted for her remarkable rapport with audiences and stylistic versatility.

The Kahlo String Quartet
Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 3 p.m.

The Kahlo Quartet began its journey around a shared vision that everyone should have access to meaningful musical experiences and a shared mission to create a bridge between the typical classical canon and Latin American music. Based in Philadelphia, members Audrey Lee, Manuela Romero, Freddy Contreras and Andrea Beltran Landers are eager to explore the chamber music repertoire from their respective cultural backgrounds.
