South Baldwin Regional Medical Center has earned distinction as one of the Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals for 2024, as designated by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. The accolade, part of Chartis' annual program, spotlights exceptional performance among rural hospitals nationwide.
In a time marked by considerable uncertainty surrounding rural healthcare, the distinction highlights the pivotal role these top-performing hospitals play in delivering quality care to increasingly vulnerable populations. The Chartis Center for Rural Health revealed its latest roster of the top 100 rural and community hospitals across the United States on Feb. 15.
The selection process for the 2024 list relied on the Chartis Rural Hospital Strength INDEX, a comprehensive assessment evaluating various metrics including inpatient and outpatient market share, quality of care, outcomes, patient satisfaction, financial health and operational efficiency. Among the three hospitals chosen in Alabama, South Baldwin Regional Medical Center emerged as the only representative for Baldwin County.
