October isn't that far away, and that means the 51st-annual National Shrimp Festival is getting closer and closer to 250,000 people rocking out on the beaches of Gulf Shores all weekend.

Of course, Shrimp Fest has food, art, shopping, activities and more, but the live music is what gets everyone in the mood to not just swing by but hang out for a while.

Whether you like country, rock, blues, jazz, R&B, etc., "we'll have something for ya at the Fest!" their website says.

The best part? Admission is free.

The full entertainment schedule has been released, as well as the Saturday night headliners in "The Voice" season 25 finalist Karen Waldrup and Shrimp Fest favorites The Velcro Pygmies. Four days of music on two stages will fill the air of the Shrimp Festival grounds. The schedule features a variety of local talent and nationwide touring acts ready to play new hits and old favorites

An opener for Joe Diffie at the 48th-annual national Shrimp Festival in 2018, Waldrup recently placed fifth as a member of Team Dan + Shay on the NBC singing competition. She'll perform Saturday, Oct. 12 on the East Stage. For years, Shrimp Fest faithful have loved The Velcro Pygmies. Grab your washed denim and hairspray for an '80s party you won't want to miss. They will perform on the West Stage. Both shows are from 8 to 10 p.m.

East Stage is near Phoenix All Suites, and West Stage is near the green area and sail shade.

For the complete schedule and more information, go to https://www.myshrimpfest.com/, where you can also find a Spotify playlist featuring Shrimp Fest artists.

Entry into the festival grounds is free. The event runs Oct. 10-13, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, at 101 Gulf Shores Pkwy., the intersection of Hwy. 59 and East Beach Boulevard.
