SEMINOLE, Ala. — A 7-year-old boy was allegedly bitten by a pit bull in Seminole Tuesday, July 7.
According to media reports, Steven Fretman was riding his bike in the Vaughn Road area of Seminole when a dog down the street broke free and started attacking the boy.
The boy suffered bites on his legs. He did not need medical treatment, There are apparently no leash laws in Seminole.
“I told him no. I told him to get away,” Freeman is reported to have said.
Freeman got away from the dog with the help of a neighbor.
The dog’s owner, who declined to be identified, reportedly has taken the dog to the Baldwin County Animal Shelter to be destroyed. No charges were filed against the owner. The owner reportedly has other animals, and is building a fence to keep them contained.
