Hurricane season is here. Is your yard ready?

Hurricane Sally wreaked havoc on the trees of Baldwin County. Whole pecan fields were leveled and trees fell on homes. The Alabama Cooperative Extension Office (ACES) is here to help.

On July 31, ACES is hosting Weathering the Storm: Landscape Resilience on July 31. Participants will learn how to assess trees for storm readiness, prepare landscaping for a coming storm and how to recover landscape in a post-storm situation. The clinic is free to attend and the first 25 participants to register will receive a free NOAA weather radio.

Weathering the Storm: Landscape Resilience will be held at the Coastal Alabama Community College Auditorium at 450 Fairhope Ave., Fairhope. For more information or to register for this event, visit www.aces.edu/go/weather.
