In 2020, Baldwin County became the fourth-largest county in Alabama by population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, it has been the fastest-growing county in Alabama since 2010.

To adjust to growth throughout the county, the county is expanding and changing its polling infrastructure by adding 15 new polling locations. Seven new voting precincts were made, and eight polling places were relocated in existing voting precincts. To accommodate the relocations, boundary lines were modified in six precincts.

The county mailed 49,666 new voter cards to all affected registered voters in November and December 2023.

From 2000 to 2020, the United States experienced a population increase of 17.8% and Alabama 13%. However, Baldwin County experienced an increase of 65.1%.

The U.S. Census Bureau said 96% of Baldwin County’s population growth is a result of incoming migration, and Baldwin leads the state of Alabama for incoming migration, outpacing the next closest Alabama county by 38%.
According to Forbes, Baldwin County ranks 10th out of 203 small U.S. metropolitan statistical areas in the overall ranking for Best Small Places for Business and Careers.

Metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) are places where a lot of people live close together in a central area, and there are strong connections between this central area and the surrounding region in terms of jobs, businesses and other economic activities.

Within the county, Silverhill has seen the most pronounced population growth since 2010, registering an increase of 29.5%, followed by Loxley with 9.7%, and Foley with 7.1%.
