WEEKS BAY, Ala. — Entries for the Ninth Annual Weeks Bay Photography Contest are being accepted by the Weeks Bay Foundation.
The contest includes any Gulf Coast estuary or watershed.
The sponsors for this year’s event are the Weeks Bay Foundation, The Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, the Eastern Shore Art Center and Faulkner State Community College.
According to Walter Ernest, executive director of the Weeks Bay Foundation, “This contest is unique that it adds an educational component to a photography contest. This contest emphasizes estuaries and watersheds. It also requires each entrant to visit the Week Bay Reserve.
The wining photos will be displayed during the month of July in the Wilson gallery of the Eastern Shore Art Center.
They will also be displayed on the foundation’s Web site.
The categories are adult and junior flora, fauna and open. There will be a best of show category as well as first, second and third place in adult and junior divisions.
Entry forms and contest rules can be obtained by visiting the Weeks Bay Reserve Interpretive Center, Faulkner State Community College Fairhope Campus, or by accessing the Weeks Bay Reserve Foundation’s Web site, www.weeksbay.org.
