ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — The buzz of September in OBA includes music, fundraisers and fun. 

All are requested to attend and bring friends and neighbors to the Town Hall Meeting with ALDOT (Alabama Department of Transportation) related to transportation issues in Orange Beach on September 9, 6:00 pm in The Event Center at The Wharf.  

Welcome Another Broken Egg that opened for business in Orange Beach last week. Music Under the Stars, a young artist showcase, is September 12, from 5:30- 8:30 pm at the Bayside Stage of the Coastal Art Center of Orange Beach. This free event is a great opportunity for our youth to share their talents with the community. 

The Wonderfu Wacky women —and the men who love them — have a tutus, Tootsies and Tiaras Silent Auction and Party on Wednesday, September 17 at The Flora Bama beginning at 5:30 pm to raise money for Ovarian Cancer Awareness.

The City of Orange Beach Employee Appreciation Lunch is September 18 at The Event Center at The Wharf.  Businesses donating and sponsoring this event are welcome to attend. Interested in participating? Contact Renee Smith via e-mail, rsmith@cityoforangebeach.com; or phone 251-981-6779. 

September 20 is Alabama Coastal Clean-up and volunteers are always needed around our waterways so check in at Cotton Bayou Access beginning at 8:30am.

The City is putting together an Orange Beach Recipe Book for a Fall Fund raiser.  If you have a recipe to add please contact Renee Smith via e-mail, rsmith@cityoforangebeach.com; or phone 251-981-6779. The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber launched their new website that is friendly for residents, visitors and businesses to use.  Check it out at www.mygulfcoastchamber.com

The vote for an independent public school district for Orange Beach is too important not to know the facts. The vote is September 23 at Orange Beach Community Center.  

The Wharf Uncorked Wine and Culinary Event presented by Mercedes-Benz of Mobile will be held on September 25 -27. Tickets for this event range from $60 - $125 with discounts if purchased early. It is also time to purchase tickets for the Siren’s drawdown on September 26.

September 25-27 is Battle at the Beach Tennis Tournament. Come out and enjoy at the City’s courts. The national Shrimp Festival is coming so consider volunteering. Click www.myshrimpfest.com and click the picture of Allen and Dianne McElroy to sign up. 

What is your business or organization planning for Christmas?  It is time to place those Christmas events on the Coastal Christmas calendar, now, at  http://www.alabamacoastalchristmas.com/ click submit an event. This is a great FREE community service of the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber.

Just a note to say we were sad to see Louisiana Pantry leave but we will visit when we are in Louisiana.
