Morgan's Chapel kicks off annual holiday dinner drive for Baldwin County families

Posted

Morgan's Chapel United Methodist Church in Bon Secour has launched its annual fundraising drive to support the distribution of holiday dinner boxes to local families in need.

The church's Food Ministry is working to provide complete meal kits for Thanksgiving and Christmas, with boxes set to be delivered ahead of each holiday.

Each Thanksgiving box will include a turkey and traditional sides to ensure families can enjoy a full holiday meal. For Christmas, the church aims to offer the same, though this time featuring a ham, funds permitting. The estimated cost of providing both dinner kits is about $100 per family.

Morgan's Chapel currently serves over 100 families weekly through its Food Ministry, and this seasonal project offers extra support during the holidays. Donations are key to making the effort a success. The church welcomes contributions of any amount, though donors also have the option to sponsor an entire family's holiday meals for $100. Contributions are tax-deductible, and donors will receive statements for IRS purposes.

Those interested in contributing to the cause can send checks to Morgan's Chapel at P.O. Box 88, Bon Secour, AL 36511. For more information, please email mableanderson442@gmail.com.
