Mobile Infirmary, the flagship hospital of Infirmary Health, has been named one of the top hospitals in Southern Alabama and ranks among the top four in the state, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2024-25 Best Hospitals rankings.

The hospital also achieved a milestone with eight high-performing specialty designations, setting a new record for its excellence in areas such as COPD, colon cancer surgery, heart attack, heart failure, hip replacement, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, lung cancer surgery and prostate cancer surgery according to a news release.

"Our team at Mobile Infirmary is committed to being the FIRST CHOICE for healthcare in the Gulf Coast region, which is illustrated through the best hospitals designation from US News & World Report," said Mobile Infirmary president Susan Boudreau in the release. "Additionally, these rankings showcase our hard work and excellent service across eight specialties at a national level."

Mobile Infirmary offers one of the most comprehensive cardiovascular programs in the region and is known for its award-winning surgical program, one of the largest in Alabama. The hospital is also home to Infirmary Cancer Care, affiliated with the UAB O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, providing surgical, radiation and medical oncology services. In May 2024, the hospital earned certification from The Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Additionally, Mobile Infirmary holds The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for excellence in total knee and hip replacements and spine surgery.
