Twenty-five more Baldwin County baseball players were honored by the Mobile Baseball Connection by being named second-team all-stars for their efforts on the diamond.

The Orange Beach Makos led the way with five second-team selections, Bayside Academy followed with four, Daphne and Bayshore Christian earned three apiece, Robertsdale, Elberta, Baldwin County High and St. Michael Catholic all garnered two roster spots and Gulf Shores and Spanish Fort both had one representative.

For the Gulf Shores Dolphins, Dom Maldet registered a .345 batting average, recorded 38 hits with 11 doubles and 28 RBIs. He ranked 33rd in hits, 30th in RBIs and 21st in doubles. Dolphins’ skipper Chris Jacks also represented Gulf Shores as the coach of the second-team all-stars, dubbed the Baldwin Seagulls.

For the Spanish Fort Toros, Caden Jacobs helped spark the offense with a .391 average with 36 hits, 27 RBIs, 27 runs, 16 walks and 18 stolen bases, according to unofficial stats from Joey Warner and MBC. In local rankings, Jacobs finished 39th in hits, 33rd in RBIs, 43rd in walks and 20th in stolen bases.

The Baldwin County Tigers were represented by Justin Brunson (.356, 31 hits, 8 RBIs, 25 runs) and Trevor Murphy (.342, 26 hits, 20 RBIs, 11 runs) where the latter’s 10 doubles ranked 27th.

Both Elberta Warriors’ honorees had batting averages over .400 where Roman LoChico finished at .426 with 32 hits, 12 RBIs, 14 runs and four stolen bases and Landen Adams hits .418 with five doubles and two home runs, 17 RBIs and 15 runs. Their averages were ranked 15th and 21st, respectively.

Clay Barr’s four triples for the St. Michael Cardinals had him tied for third in the county in the category. He also finished with a .378 average with 23 RBIs, five runs and a stolen base. He was joined as a second-team all-star by Jonathan Mills, who hit .337 with 29 hits, seven RBIs, 31 runs and 10 stolen bases where he ranked 35th in runs scored.

Sage Givens with the Robertsdale Golden Bears finished ranked 17th with 11 doubles, 25th with 39 hits and 27th with 33 runs scored to go along with a .368 average and 17 RBIs. Ethan Small’s 26 RBIs had him ranked 35th along with a .318 average with 27 hits.

The two-time Class 1A champion Bayshore Christian Eagles had Cooper Schultze (.341, 30 hits, 33 RBIs, 29 runs), Riley Malone (.341, 30 hits, 31 RBIs, 32 runs, 22 walks) and Jace Jones (.302, 30 hits, 23 RBIs, 22 runs) all named second-team all-stars. Schultze was ranked 14th in RBIs and 38th in runs while Malone was tied for first with five triples, 13th in walks and 18th in RBIs.

Steele Hall was a leader for the Daphne Trojans’ lineup and he finished ranked 13th with 36 runs, 19th with three home runs, 26th with 39 hits and 30th with 19 walks in addition to his .358 average, 21 RBIs and 13 stolen bases.

Similarly, Jay Davidson hit .357 with 25 hits (ranked 40th), 20 RBIs, 34 runs (ranked 23rd), 20 walks (ranked 25th) and 16 stolen bases (ranked 24th) and added a 7-1 record (12th-most wins) on the mound with a 1.55 ERA (ranked 10th) and 35 strikeouts. Gann Nobles’ 11 doubles had him ranked 15th and his 30 RBIs registered the 21st-most in the county. He finished with a .293 average, 29 hits, 22 runs and eight stolen bases.

Josh Gunther got it done on both sides of the ball for the Bayside Academy Admirals where he hit .296 with 29 hits, 22 RBIs, 15 runs and three stolen bases in addition to his 6-2 record on the mound with 84 strikeouts and a 1.18 ERA. He finished ranked third in strikeouts, fifth in ERA, 15th in wins and 38th in doubles with eight.

He was named a second-team all-star alongside Admiral teammates Brody Swindle (.292, 26 hits, 18 RBIs, 17 runs, 5 stolen bases; 3-2 pitching record, 53 strikeouts, 2.20 ERA), Steele Sims (.400, 32 hits, 18 RBIs, 15 walks) and Cade Morris (.391, 27 hits, 14 RBIs, 23 runs, 15 walks, 7 stolen bases).

The Orange Beach Makos’ five selections were led in part by Parker Rumley who finished tied for first with five triples, 10th in average (.439), 25th in RBIs (29) and 39th in hits (36) to go along with 19 runs and seven stolen bases. Tre Bryant added a .417 average (ranked 22nd) with 35 hits (ranked 41st), 18 RBIs, 25 runs and 13 stolen bases offensively as well as a 5-2 record (27th-most wins) on the mound with 65 strikeouts (ranked 15th).

Tripp Carter (.426, 26 hits, 12 RBIs, 14 runs; 3.31 ERA, 33 strikeouts) and Rylan Gober (.354, 28 hits, 13 RBIs, 24 runs, 10 stolen bases; 3 pitching wins, 40 strikeouts), who also contributed on both sides, were joined by Hayden Barber’s .386 average with 34 hits, 18 RBIs, 24 runs, 18 walks and 11 stolen bases.
