BAY MINETTE, Alabama -- A Loxley woman who was arrested in April after members of the Baldwin County Drug Task Force found evidence of a methamphetamine lab inside her home has received a 15-year suspended sentence.

According to a press release issued in April, Steven East, 30, of Summerdale, and Lynda Rigsby, 52, of Loxley were arrested April 19 on charges of unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance, first degree; unlawful possession of a controlled substance, first degree; and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to reports, Rigsby pleaded guilty to second-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance in June and Circuit Court Judge Robert Wilters sentenced her on June 7, suspending her prison sentence and ordering her to serve three years in prison.  The drug paraphernalia charge against Rigby was dropped.

Representatives with the Baldwin County Public Schools System confirmed Wednesday that Rigby served as a special education aide with Magnolia School and resigned her position on May 31.

According to the Baldwin County Corrections Facility website, East remains in jail on a $61,000 bond. He is scheduled to enter a plea on a charge of possession of a controlled substance on July 9, according to reports.

Information was released in April by Lt. Clint Cadenhead, investigations command with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force and a press release was issued by Capt. Steve Arthur, BCSO investigator.

According to the release the Baldwin County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Wilson Drive in Loxley and found “items consistent with a red phosphorus methamphetamine lab” located inside the residence and in the attic of the home.

Drug paraphernalia and finished methamphetamine were also located at the home.  Investigators were able to safely dismantle the lab components.
