Lloyd John Keuler, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Aug. 14, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on Nov. 13, 1942, in Loxley, Alabama, Lloyd lived a life marked by his faith, hard work, kindness, and a deep connection to his roots. Lloyd was born and raised in Loxley, where he developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for small town life. After graduating from Robertsdale High School, Lloyd went on to the University of Alabama where he met his future wife, Gwen, whom he married in 1967. They began their marriage in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where Lloyd served in the Army in the 101st Airborne Division for two years. They moved to Loxley in 1968. He worked in the finance department of Turner Supply Company in Mobile for 41 years. After retirement, he continued to work for the City of Loxley. Together, Lloyd and Gwen raised three children, Pam, Annalisa, and John. Lloyd’s family was his greatest pride. He took immense joy in watching his children grow into adults and in the arrival of his grandchildren, Jack, Bryant, and Alex. Throughout his life, Lloyd was known for his unwavering generosity, his positive attitude, and his ability to lend a helping hand. He was a lifelong member of the Loxley Presbyterian Church, where he also served as a deacon and elder. He was a founding member of the Loxley Optimist Club, and he served on the Loxley City Council for many years. He was a member of the Mobile Lion’s Club and the National Accounting Association. His dedication to service and his care for others left a mark on many lives. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gwen Keuler, children, Pam (Tom) Stevens, Annalisa (Paul Dabbs) Keuler, John (Miranda) Keuler, his grandchildren, Jack, Bryant, and Alex. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and brother. A funeral service was held on Aug. 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Loxley Presbyterian Church with a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery.
