Spring is in the air and the promise of Easter, warmer days and family fun is all around.

It’s the perfect time to get the kids out of the house, hop into community events and make memories together. Whether it’s crafting shamrocks, bouncing at open play or snapping photos with real bunnies, there’s plenty to fill your calendar. Longer days mean more time to enjoy the season, and with Easter just around the corner, now is the time to celebrate with friends and family.

Most of these events are free or budget-friendly, so families can enjoy special moments without stretching their wallet.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY STORYTIME

What: Kids can enjoy a shamrock-filled adventure at Gulf Shores Public Library with storytime led by Jo Billups. The program features whimsical St. Patrick’s Day stories, interactive songs and basic sign-language lessons. Children will finish the celebration with a themed craft inspired by rainbows and leprechauns. A fun way to spark creativity and holiday excitement.

KIDS OPEN PLAY

What: Bay City Gymnastics Academy hosts an open play session for children ages 6-15. Activities are gymnastics-themed and designed for movement and fun. All children must be accompanied by an adult. More information at (251) 621-2112.

When: Thursday, March 12, 2:30-3:25 p.m.

Where: Bay City Gymnastics Academy, 8534 Well Road, Daphne

Price: $10 for one child, $5 for each additional sibling, cash only

EASTER PHOTOS WITH REAL BUNNIES

What: Families can have professional keepsake photos taken with cuddly, photo-ready bunnies at The Wharf Store. Multiple photo packages are available. Dress in your Easter best and capture a moment the whole family will treasure.

When: Saturday, March 14, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, March 15, noon-6 p.m.

TEEN CRAFTERNOON

What: Teens ages 13-18 can create handcrafted felt shamrocks to add a cozy, festive touch to their St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Materials provided.

When: Monday, March 16, 5-6 p.m.

Where: Fairhope Public Library, 501 Fairhope Ave., Fairhope

Price: Free

AFTER SCHOOL SOCIAL

What: Sunliner Diner invites students through 12th grade to enjoy a retro after-school social. Participants can savor discounted milkshakes, classic 1950s décor, music and the diner’s all-day breakfast menu while socializing with friends.

When: Wednesday, March 18, 2-4 p.m.
