Eastern Shore Repertory Theatre will celebrate 20 years of Disney’s “High School Musical” with a live production of “High School Musical JR” Nov. 6-8 at the Daphne Civic Center.
Tickets start at $20 for the family-friendly production, which will feature young performers from across the Eastern Shore and bring the music, humor and energy of the popular Disney Channel movie to the stage.
The production promises an experience beyond traditional theater, with the Daphne Civic Center transformed into East High. Audiences can expect Wildcat spirit, game-day energy, a gymnasium atmosphere, high-energy choreography and surprises throughout the weekend.
The story follows basketball star Troy Bolton and newcomer Gabriella Montez, who discover a shared love of singing and decide to audition for the school musical. Their decision challenges school cliques, expectations and friendships as they navigate their new interests. Meanwhile, Sharpay and Ryan Evans are determined to remain in the spotlight.
The musical features familiar songs, including “Start of Something New,” “Get’cha Head in the Game,” “Breaking Free” and “We’re All in This Together.” The production celebrates the story’s message of finding one's voice, challenging expectations and trying something new.
Erin Langley will direct the production, with Matthew Kiel serving as choreographer.
Whether audiences grew up with Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay and the Wildcats or are discovering East High for the first time, Eastern Shore Rep invites families and friends to join the celebration and show their Wildcat spirit.
All tickets are nonrefundable. Tickets are available at https://tinyurl.com/mtvkhet7.
