BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Senior Auburn outfielder Jordan Ebert was named to the 2016 SEC Community Service team the league office announced on Tuesday. It is the second-straight year Ebert has received the distinction.
The Foley native has been active in the community throughout his four-year collegiate career both in Auburn and in his hometown.
The senior volunteers through Auburn athletics and Auburn baseball to visit pediatric hospital patients as well as hosting free baseball clinics in the Foley area. He has also participated in the City of Auburn’s Halloween Downtown Trunk or Treat program.
Perhaps, the cause that most touched Ebert was Walking Wednesdays at a local elementary school that supported one of the school’s students who is battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Ebert was able to enlist the support of teammates and coaching staff members to participate in a Walking Wednesday at Wrights Mill Road Elementary in Auburn.
Ebert was also honored by the Southeastern Conference in 2015 as a member of the Community Service Team.
