Jodell Harrah: “I am blessed”

Posted

Jodell Harrah, who was featured in the July 10 edition of Baldwin People, has been quadriplegic and ventilator dependent since a 2004 car accident. Her condition requires around-the-clock care.

To help offset the cost of her medical bills, her home church, Foley United Methodist, held a benefit in her honor July 15. All proceeds from the ticket, food and raffle sales went to Jodell, and she would like to thank the community for their support and generosity.

The benefit raised $15,000—far more than she ever expected. Despite the challenges Jodell faces each day, she is filled with joy and thankfulness for her community and God’s love.

From Jodell to all who participated: “THANK YOU to everyone at Foley United Methodist Church and to everyone in Foley and surrounding communities who participated in any way in the recent fundraiser for my Caregiver Fund! I was overwhelmed by the response and consider myself so very blessed.

The commitment of my church family to serve the Lord and share His love by helping me continues to amaze me. The outpouring of gifts from the community (from friends and even from people I don’t know) is incredible.

Surely I am living among the most caring, loving, giving people anywhere! Each of you is a blessing to me. Today and every day, I will remember each of you with a grateful heart. John 1:16—‘From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.’”
