Youth Peer Helpers from all across Baldwin County are uniting together at the Eastern Shore Cinema 14 to hear from Nationally recognized speakers about various topics our youth face every day. On Thursday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. - 1:15 p.m., over 1,200 Peer Helper students from 49 different schools will be under one roof for a day of networking, sharing and bonding that brings the Baldwin County Peer Helper Program to a new cohesive level, having students know that there are others working for the same goal to help their fellow peers through daily life and the obstacles they face.
Allison Faircloth, Executive Director: The Peer Helper Jubilee is an event like none other with students from all over Baldwin County. Students range in grade levels from 2nd to 12th from both public and private schools. “This day truly warms my heart as it shows the caring, compassionate future leaders who lend a helping hand to support their fellow peers. During this event, Peer Helpers learn more about at-risk behaviors as well as counseling and leadership skills which they will carry with them for a lifetime.”
The focus of the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation is to provide youth with the knowledge, resources and confidence to successfully navigate the pressures of day-to-day life. This has come to life through our Peer Helping program. Peers Helpers assist their classmates by listening and understanding, providing options for making healthy choices in life, becoming advocates and helping them get involved in campus life. In the process of helping others improve their self-esteem, Peer Helpers can themselves become leaders and role models.
The Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation is always looking for volunteers, supporters and sponsors. For more information email events@jennifermoorefoundation.com. Your support is greatly appreciated by the foundation and our Peer Helpers.
