SEMINOLE, Ala. — The sky got black, and the wind blew hard, but according to the National Weather Service, there was no tornado in Seminole Tuesday evening.
“There were no ground reports,” said Meteorologist John Werner at the Mobile office of the National Weather Service, “There was a strong signal of a tornado but no reports of damage.”
Werner said that because the area is rural, it was possible that there was tornado damage somewhere that had not been seen by first responders. Reports of damage should go to the NWS, at 251-633-6443
The NWS issued a tornado warning for parts of Escambia County, Florida and parts of Baldwin County. According to media reports, the Seminole area was strewn with broken tree limbs and power lines were down
There are reports that the storm was spotted on radar near Highway 90 around 5 p.m. At this time there are no reports of serious damage or injuries.
