Gulf Shores’ Langston rated 5-star kicker, 4.5-star punter by Chris Sailer

“One of the most consistent punters in America,” Sailer said of the rising Dolphin senior

Following a camp in Georgia hosted by Chris Sailer Kicking toward the end of March, Gulf Shores’ Will Langston received a 5-star rating as a kicker and was ranked No. 19 in the country for the Class of 2024. As a punter, Langston earned a 4.5-star rating and a No. 13 ranking for his class.

In Sailer’s evaluation of the 5’ 8”, 165-pound Langston, he called the Dolphins’ rising senior one of the most consistent punters in the country and a strong prospect in both kicking and punting.

As a junior, Langston connected on 5-of-8 field goals and 57-of-60 point-after tries where he also registered an average net punt of 39 yards and pinned seven inside the 20-yard line.

“He hits a pure ball off the ground, gets big-time height on his ball and has a 55-yard (field goal) range. His kickoffs are strong. He drives the ball 60+ yards, with a 3.85+ hangtime,” Sailer’s evaluation of Langston said. “One of the most consistent punters in America. His best ball measures 50+ yards, with 4.8+ hangtime. A big-time competitor who thrives under pressure.”

At that camp in Georgia, Langston also won the punting competition alongside Ethan Devers, from Georgia’s Newnan Cougars, who took the field goal and kickoff competition en route to an overall camp championship title.

This offseason has gotten off to a busy start for Langston, who was at Mississippi State this weekend after he visited Troy last weekend and previously visited Memphis in January. During the season, he made a trip to visit in-state Auburn.

Langston was a key cog in Gulf Shores’ historic campaign in 2022 that saw the most wins and points scored in a single season to go along with the program’s first home playoff victory.

More on Langston from Sailer

“He is a great looking athlete with a live leg. Will does an outstanding job on field goal, a strength,” Sailer wrote. “I look forward to seeing what the future holds. Look for him to have a big 2023 offseason with Chris Sailer Kicking. Will will easily challenge for a TOP 12 Camp spot at Vegas XFLII in May. He is a fine young man who is always a great pleasure to work with. One of my favorite athletes to work with. Strong combo prospect.”
