Foley residents stock up on last-minute hurricane supplies ahead of Isaias impact

FOLEY — Residents in Foley are making last-minute trips to the local Walmart on Thursday, Oct. 8, to stock up on essential supplies ahead of Hurricane Isaias. Shoppers picked up bottled water, groceries and other necessities as they prepared their homes and families for possible heavy rainfall, flooding and power outages.

Officials recommend keeping several days' worth of essential supplies on hand in case conditions make it difficult to leave home or access stores. Some of the most important items to have include bottled water, nonperishable and shelf-stable foods along with flashlights, extra batteries, first-aid kits, necessary medications and personal hygiene products.

Residents are encouraged to have at least one gallon of water per person per day for several days, along with enough ready-to-eat food for each household member.
